What is Peyronie’s disease. Can P-shot and shock wave help on it?

Peyronie’s disease is a condition where fibrous scar tissue develops inside the penis, causing curvature, pain, and erectile difficulties.

The P-Shot, or Priapus Shot, is a relatively new treatment option. It has shown promise in addressing the symptoms of Peyronie’s Disease. The P-Shot involves the injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) into the penis.

Although the exact therapeutic mechanism remains unclear. It is postulated that LiESWT may play a role in plaque remodelling and improvement in consecutive resorption of calcification . This may result in softer plaque and further correction and/or resolution of the penile curvature.

In Summary both the P-Shot and focused shockwave therapy have shown promise in treating it, especially when used together.

🧠 What Is Peyronie’s Disease?

•  Cause: Formation of fibrous plaques in the tunica albuginea (the sheath surrounding penile erectile tissue).

•  Symptoms:

  ◦  Noticeable bend or curve in the penis during erection

  ◦  Pain during erection or intercourse

  ◦  Erectile dysfunction

  ◦  Shortening or narrowing of the penis

•  Impact: Can significantly affect sexual function and emotional well-being.

💉 P-Shot (Priapus Shot)

•  What it is: A regenerative injection using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood.

•  How it helps:

  ◦  Stimulates tissue repair and growth

  ◦  Improves blood flow

  ◦  May reduce plaque formation and improve erectile function

•  Procedure: Minimally invasive, typically with little to no downtime.

🔊 Shockwave Therapy

•  What it is: Focused acoustic waves directed at the affected area.

•  How it helps:

  ◦  Breaks down fibrous plaques

  ◦  Stimulates healing and collagen production

  ◦  Reduces pain and improves curvature

•  Sessions: Usually 30–45 minutes, with multiple treatments recommended. Individual protocols may vary.

🔄 Combined Approach

In ourv Clinic we often combine P-Shot and focused shockwave therapy for optimal results:

•  Shockwaves soften plaques, making the tissue more receptive to regeneration.

•  P-Shot enhances healing and improves erectile function.

•  This combination is non-invasive, has minimal side effects, and requires no downtime.
